Distance Learning

What is Distance Learning?

The University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville department of community health and family medicine sponsors occasional webcasts of a variety of lectures and grand rounds. These webcasts are available to all UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville faculty, residents, fellows and students via the UF Academic Technology MediaSite.

Internal medicine grand rounds webcasts are made possible by the generous endowment of the Herschel L. Douglas, M.D., Memorial Fund. Herschel L. Douglas, M.D., held multiple academic titles from professor and associate dean of the College of Medicine – Jacksonville, formerly Jacksonville Health Education Programs, to medical director of UF Health Family Medicine – Lem Turner. He retired under emeritus status in the department of community health and family medicine in 2000.

The Herschel L. Douglas, M.D., Memorial Fund supports the use of technology to disseminate relevant educational sessions to physicians working in Northeast Florida locations. If you are interested in making a donation to this fund or other educational endeavors of the UF faculty, or have any questions, please contact Teresa Ray at teresa.ray@jax.ufl.edu or (904) 244-3196.

Accreditation
