About Velyn L Wu
Velyn Wu, MD, MACM, FAAFP, CAQ-SM, is an associate professor and physician at UF Health Family Medicine – Wildlight. She is board-certified in family medicine and has a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine.
Dr. Wu earned her medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dr. Wu completed her family medicine residency and a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at Halifax Health. Additionally, she obtained a master’s degree in academic medicine from Keck School of Medicine of USC in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Wu served communities in Jacksonville, Florida, and then in Lynchburg, Virginia. She returned to the Sunshine State to pursue her passion for medical education.

Clinical Profile
Dr. Wu enjoys providing care to the entire age spectrum from birth to elders for the entire family. She evaluates and manages acute and chronic conditions, health maintenance and disease prevention and performs minor outpatient skin and musculoskeletal procedures. Dr. Wu has provided sports medicine care to athletes at all levels of competition. Her experience includes serving as a team physician for Mainland High school, First Coast High School, Bethune-Cookman University, Sweet Briar College, and the Lynchburg HillCats (Cleveland Indians).
